Carpet plays an important role in filtering air indoors. It traps and holds soil, dust and allergens. The verticle pile of carpet traps and holds many times its weight in small particles, including dust and allergens. This makes regular carpet cleaning an integral part of keeping your home a healthy one.

What is Host?

Host Sponges Cleaner is a soft, absorbent natural product that is environmentally friendly. Host Sponges are moistened with little water, specialized detergent and a safe-to-use solvent.

How does it work?

Carpets are first vacuumed to pull out dirt and residue. Next a solvent is applied and Host Sponges Cleaner is brushed into carpets using a Host cleaning machine. Powerful brushes insert sponges into the carpet pushing and pulling dirt and stains into the sponges. Lastly, after the brushing, the sponges are vacuumed up by the Host machine and once more with a smaller vacuum to grab the deepest particles, reaching into nooks and corners.

Studies

Pet allergens are one of the top indoor allergens to which people are sensitive. In 1995 and 1996 several homes with a cat were studied for the presence of cat allergens and the effects of Host Carpet Cleaning. The study showed that cat allergens (dander, hair, saliva) in carpet can be decreased by 85% with a single Host Carpet Cleaning.

Bacteria and Mold thrive in high water activity levels but Health Carpets & Cleaning stops water activity at the source with our dry-cleaning system. Mold grows at a water activity level of 0.8 and bacteria at a 0.9 level. Host Sponges induce only a 0.37 amount of water activity into the carpet, reduction mold and bacteria at the source. Test results showed Host reduced mold levels in Georgia’s humid climate by 85% and in Wisconsin’s Temperate climate by 94%!
